On the other hand, you could ask yourself why it's important to receive more comments.

Rob, I will look into it. Tam, fair enough I suppose. Controversy for the sake of controversy is not my style, but if I need to pander from time to time...

A lot of your posts lately have been more personal and just not as prone to get comments. Try posting something controversial about men and women.

Hugo,

The comment location is determined by the theme you use.

You're using the K2 theme, which has the comments at the top. It's annoying, but livable -- at least in my opinion. If you want to dig into the code to change the theme so that the comments appear at the bottom of the post (more typical for themes), you could do that. Alternatively, switching to a different theme would solve that particular problem.

That could be it... and yet I was getting so many more comments just a few weeks ago. I'll find out if there's a way wordpress will let you put comments at the bottom of a post.

Hugo,

you're getting fewer comments because the comments are linked at the top of the post, and require another click to access them. It's much easier to read the post itself and then move on than it is to read, scroll back to the top, click to the comments, read the comments, and then add a comment. Your old format with a teaser, which linked the entire article and the comments all on the same page, was much faster. We're basically lazy slobs.

My heart bleeds for the Snicker-Snack company.

(Are you old enough to get that reference? Linus and Charlie Brown are talking about how much the Snicker-Snack company paid to develop an easy open box that was just ripped open maniacally. Never mind, it's a '60s thing.)

I should have your problems. Instead, all anyone seems to be coming to my blog for is to look for pictures of the Queen Gordo rape scene from 300, and somehow I get the idea they're disappointed with what was shown in the movie.

Anyway, here's a comment, one of those long, rambling Rob comments that might make you rethink your desire to get comments.

Hey, it could be worse. I could have gone into a discussion on how to create a new universe...
