I would like to express my deepest of sympathy to you and your family. I have to say that Chuck was very special to all of us at the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board in Van Nuys. We were all so shocked to hear about his passing. I know that Chuck and I were pretty close and I will miss him a great deal. He always said hello to me and told me how wonderful I looked no matter what kind of a day he was having. I think the only time Chuck was sad was when his dog died. I saw a side of him I had never seen before. Chuck was always smiling and greeted everyone at the WCAB in Van Nuys and that is how I am going to remember him. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. You are all so very lucky to have had a wonderful, caring and loving man such as Chuck in your life.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your father-in law, Charles "Chuck" Chumrau. I share the feelings of loss expressed above by my legal colleagues, Ian Page and Aurora Vasquez. Chuck was an exceptionally friendly and congenial person. He was something of an "institution" here at the Van Nuys Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, where he was known to everyone. The news comes as a shock. I can hardly imagine not hearing his pleasant greeting and seeing his smiling face again. Chuck knew that I served as a Peace Corps volunteer a long time ago in Africa, in a little country called Malawi. He spoke often about his daughter, who is helping the unederprivileged people of Malawi, in association with Madonna's "Raising Malawi" effort. He was very proud of her, and often shared details of her accomplishments, which I found of great interest. I believe I can speak for all the judges here, that we wish you solace and comfort during this difficult time. Please feel free to call me or visit any time.

Is this Chuck the interpreter who drove the old pickup truck? I am an interpreter and me and my colleagues are very concerned.

Please reply promptly,
