I want to try to eat healthier and stick with my daily exercise. I also want to try to become comfortable in my own skin again and get my confidence back–it’s been almost 4 years since I had my youngest child and I still don’t feel like my body is my own again.

I also want to try to make some more time for just the husband and myself, hopefully without the kids. It seems like forever since we’ve spent any time together, just us.

Happy New Year Hugo! One thing I want to try this year is “technology-free time-outs”. Haven’t yet decided if this will be an entire day, or just an hour or two; will involve no internet, no texting, no TV, etc. Friends who’ve tried this say their day seems less fragmented and they have more focus, which I could definitely use. I imagine this would help with stress reduction as well since you feel you’ve accomplished more and are less scatter-brained. Another, completely unrelated, resolution is to get back on the dating horse… it’s been nearly a year now after all…

Lynn – that’s hilarious! Yeah I’m kinda worried about the orthodoxy of the group – I feel like the queer community’s been so hurt by the churches people are very suspicious about pretty much everything Bible-related so I’m caught between wanting it to be theologically orthodox but wanting to make space for people to question whatever they want. As far as stuff being written into the gospels later, though, all the evidence points to them being very strict eye-witness accounts!

Aideen, you remind me of my old Bible study group up in the SF Bay Area, where at one point someone raised the question of whether Jesus really predicted his death, or that got written into the story later, and another woman and I jumped in by pointing out that Harvey Milk had predicted the possibility that he would be assassinated, so why not Jesus?

I resolve to 1] not get involved with Facebook to start with, 2] fix that shower door, the pipe under the sink, the equalizer I pulled out of the trash, and the generator in the flashlight [or it least give these a fair try.]
Oh, and I’m going to get this place cleaned up…
